Isis
Indeed, you are 66% erudite, 70% sensual, 62% martial, and 54% saturnine.
This Egyptian supreme Goddess is certainly the most influential deity on subsequent cultures. She was the ideal figure of womanhood, usually compared with the Greek Goddess Demeter or her Roman version, Ceres.

Isis was one element of a Holy Trinity, the remaining two figures being her brother and husband Osiris and their heroic son Horus. She was the Goddess of Magic for her brilliance, as well as the Goddess of Love because of her tenacious devotion.

She is often shown with wings, curving to caress coffins and sarcophagi of many a king. In certain papyri she is shown with her falcon wing headdress, covering her ears. One of her sacred symbols is the sistrum, a musical instrument that was believed to ward off evil spirits. Isis' sistrum was carved bearing the image of a cat and was representative of the Moon.

Isis was the High Priestess and an omnipotent magician as well as the only being ever to discover the secret name of Ra. She invariably carries the ankh, the symbol for eternal life. Her name is, by the rules of numerology, adding up to the number “2” and she just so happens to be depicted on the tarot card “Key 2 – The High Priestess”.

The God of light, the fair one, the Norse equivalent of Jesus. Yes, you are fated to die, but you will be reborn to rule over the world anew. But for now, watch out for blind gods with mistletoe.

And you thought finding out you had cancer was bad... [08 Aug 2006|07:51pm]
[ mood | listless ]

how about finding out you don't have it. AFTER you've already had a double mastectomy.

That basically sucks I gotta tell ya.

It also sucks knowing that someone else has cancer and didn't know about it because doctors told you it was you who had it.

Say a prayer or blessing for that person please.

My only saving grace at this time is that my plastic surgeon is so wonderful and had nothing at all to do with this "mix up" as I am being told it is called. I know that statement sounds weird but my emotions are a bit out of wack at this point so I have to focus on an unrelated positive.

...be back eventually.

Plastic surgeon.

He is wonderful, as is his staff. He is the first doctor that I have completely liked. Which I guess is a good thing since he is reconstructing part of my body.

I am getting better every day... physically. Mentally it is still a lot to deal with.

At least I have the nicest plastic surgeon.

Today Jeffrey received his Middle School diploma. WTG!

My recovery is going alright. Getting used to the pain more or less. The headaches are worse than the pain at times. It's hard not being able to sleep on my stomach also. But, it could be worse. Hopefully I'll be back to work in a week or so. Just in time for my birthday. :\

Been So Long [24 May 2006|07:06pm]
[ mood | chipper ]

Mainly because I am currently recovering from Breast Cancer Surgery. Was diagnosed in March, after finding a lump in a sonogram, that I was too young to have. Boy, health care in this country is odd. Anyway, I am going fine, should be starting Chemo and Radiation in the months to come. All in all, not so bad. Thankfully.

Wow, day after Christmas... [26 Dec 2005|07:34pm]
[ mood | chipper ]

Where has the time gone?

It just dawned on me that I haven't updated in a while. Let me explain. My grandmother passed away a short time after my last update and it just wasn't in me to come here. Now I'm sitting here fixing something for my sister on this horrid computer of hers and I got the urge to write.

Anyhow, this year is almost over. It wasn't all bad, but not all good either. I'm sure that could be said for every year though. Next year starts for me with a day off of work, always good. I believe that Jeff and I will probably visit Florida again this coming year. Although I don't think we will visit DC for a second time. All depends on how we travel. Maybe I'll get bold and take a plane. *Shock*

King Kong was really good. People are saying that it's a flop because it won't make the money that it cost to make it, but I enjoyed it. Not to mention that I truly enjoyed Narnia. Actually even more than I did Goblet of Fire. *Bigger Shock*

Only months away, maybe even weeks, from the final voyage of the VAX. Yes you can all cheer now. :)

See you next year I hope. Have a happy and healthy rest of 2005 and double that for 2006.

Jack
You scored 51% kindness, 45% courage, 42% seedy past, and 48% secretiveness!

"We're not savages, Kate. Not yet."

You are Jack. You are compassionate, heroic, and a bit of a martyr. You are brave and a natural leader. However, you shouldn't keep so much bottled up inside. You are so busy taking care of others that you have no time or energy to take care of yourself. Take a load off once in a while and play some golf with Hurley. You need to relax pretty soon or else you'll be no good for anyone anymore - including yourself!

Your polar opposite is: Shannon. You are similar to: Boone and Sayid.

Sooooo Long... [12 Jul 2005|04:17pm]
[ mood | sleepy ]

...Since I last wrote. I guess that the days just got away from me.

We're so busy at work. We'll be getting a new computer system soon, which should prove to be interesting. I can't wait to see how some of they deal with it.

I saw Fantastic Four on Sunday with Jeffrey and Seema. They both liked it a lot. I thought it was alright, but nowhere near as good as Batman Begins.

Seema and I decided that Chris Evans is the new hottie for this year. Although I'm not sure if he's one of my favorites or not.

Anyway, back to work now.

4 days left till Harry Potter. Yep, I can't wait.

How the hell did it get to be May? [06 May 2005|09:39pm]
[ mood | amused ]

Last week, The Interpreter. Tonight, Kingdom of Heaven. Both very good. If not a little long in places. Excellent acting in both as well.

I'd have to say though that the hottest cast award goes to Kingdom of Heaven. Nicole Kidman alone does not a hottest cast make. Although much prettier than the lady from KoH that everyone is going crazy about.

Oh and, Star Wars trailer tonight. This one can't get here fast enough.

Jeffrey back from Boston (red sox ick) in one hour.

But I finally saw Duran Duran at the Garden last night. The show was excellent! We all had a lot of fun. And yet here I am at work at 8:30 in the morning. I think I should be home getting some sleep seeing how I only got to bed a few hours ago. That's dedication. :o)

I can't stand this cold any longer. I think this year I'm gonna go to Florida for my vacation. Oh well, have some work I can't put off any more this morning.

The County Exec has squishy Hands [01 Dec 2004|07:48pm]
[ mood | hopeful ]

It seems like it was just yesterday that Kristin and I had lunch with former Mayor of Mineola Mrs. G. and today I went to her funeral. She was such a nice woman. I am comforted by the fact that her kids said she was totally at peace with everything before she died and that she didn't suffer at all. One year ago I attended her husbands funeral. Like her daughter-in-law said, "together again."

On a strange note, I had a dream about T, Hillary, and Lucy (who got married this weekend) last night. I guess it is a good omen since Lucy is happier than she has ever been in her life. I wonder if Hillary is as tall in real life as I dreamed her to be. :o)
